Felim Yoon

Role: Piercing artist; co-owner of Ink & Iron, Ceres
Background: Irish-Korean heritage (AMAB); descended from Irish artists
Relationship: 1D — Rin/Lin (former lover, reconciled friend; did her piercings)

Overview

Felim is the golden-hearted half of Ink & Iron's ownership team: the one who decorated the shop, the one who handles what advertising there is — the occasional magazine interview, the artists' convention circuit, which has taken them to Luna several times. They make much of the jewelry the shop sells with their own hands, and what they don't make, they source at top quality only. (The bone-and-feather jewelry is theirs.) A darling and a customer magnet, Felim receives a steady stream of propositions from the clientele and typically accepts none of them.

They are an active community member, mostly via the business — Ink & Iron is the kind of place that anchors a block.

Rin

Rin got her work done at Ink & Iron, and then hit on Felim — conveniently running into them on the street after their workday, offering to buy them takeout dinner. What followed was an eight-month relationship that Felim ended, because Rin didn't trust them, hid things from them, and wouldn't commit more deeply.

Then Felim found out why.

Apologies were swapped on both sides, and contact resumed. Felim even spent time with Rin's siblings back when she was "babysitting" — coming to spend nights with her at the hostel with the kids. What they are now is settled and warm: the person who did Rin's piercings, the ex who understands, the friend who stayed.

At the Table

Felim is a door into Ceres community life — they know everyone, because everyone eventually wants jewelry or a piercing, and everyone talks in the chair. If the crew needs the texture of a neighborhood, Felim has it, beautifully displayed.
